Actiflow provided extra CFD capacity for a number of projects.
Due to their varying need in CFD expertise, HWA has asked Actiflow to provide extra CFD capacity for a number of projects. Not only our expertise in the field of CFD, but also in automotive aerodynamics made us the perfect partner for HWA. The collaboration was set up in the most flexible way through a secondment agreement. Our engineer worked both on site at HWA in Affalterbach (Germany) and remote at our own office in Breda.

About the client
HWA AG is an independent, 360° engineering specialist in the fields of automobile racing and high-performance cars. Formed in 1998 by Hans Werner Aufrecht, the company is based in Affalterbach (Germany) and employs roughly 300 highly-qualified members of staff. HWA AG offers all its products and services under the motto ENGINEERING SPEED: The company’s objective is to develop the best possible, high-quality solutions, in order to get its partners and customers to their destination quicker. The portfolio of services ranges from designing all vehicle components to assembling complete cars, together with the relevant logistics, after-sales and support services.
Due to the broad aerodynamic knowledge of our CFD engineers, and the various software packages that they master, it turned out to be a small step to work according to HWA’s internal procedures. Within a few days our CFD expert was able to keep up with the daily routine. By partly working on site, it was also possible to communicate efficiently with the HWA engineers from different departments.
