Interflow is part of the Royal BAM Group. As such it is an international and leading manufacturer of cleanrooms, operating rooms, sterile facilities and laminar flow units. Interflow has the expertise to take on projects from design to installations and validation for a large range of projects. Part of their portfolio is the Flex operating room (Flex OR).

The Flex OR is a unique concept that combines a new wall, ceiling and ventilation system into a flexible and easy-to-adapt operating room. The design of the Flex OR is focused on usability and air quality.

To obtain the desired air quality, a uni-directional airflow must be established from the plenum in the ceiling to the outlets in the walls. This ensures uncontaminated flow near the operating area. In cooperation with Interflow, Actiflow performed multiple CFD simulations during the design of the Flex OR. We validated several design concepts, in order to select the final design.
